Coach Dave Jenkin
With an Honours Bachelor of Physical and Health Education and an Honours Bachelor of Education from York University Dave has spent most of his adult life coaching in the high schools and community in a wide variety of sports including triathlon, hockey, track and field, basketball, volleyball and football.
Dave has been competing in the sport of triathlon now for 22 years and is still going strong. During his final years of teaching, as head of PHE department, Dave started to coach triathlon in the high school, training many young girls and boys to complete their first triathlon and more. His passion for fitness and a healthy active lifestyle has pushed Dave to complete all distances of triathlon focusing early on longer events and more recently on shorter distance races.
In preparation to move into retirement, Dave took his NCCP comp-intro certification [ 2009 ] and sought a coaching position with Fletcher’s Meadow Cross Trainer’s club [FMCT]. Dave was Head Coach of FMCT from 2010 until September 2014 when he moved to Woodstock. Dave’s triathlon accomplishments are listed below but he is most proud of his client’s achievements whether that be finishing their first triathlon or getting a PB in a focus race.
